NEW PUBLICATION: Wood processing industry in Slovenia
In October 2009 we published a new research, Wood processing industry in Slovenia. Slovenia is one of the most forested countries in Europe and wood has always been important product. Today, forested area and the quantity of wood is increasing and so is external trade in raw timber. Some experts see it as a worrying sign of deteriorating condition of the local wood processing industry, but the report argues that there are some segments in the industry that are vibrant and profitable. Unfortunately, more segments are unprofitable and produce low added value. Both segments are analysed in the report as is the future opportunities in CO2 emission coupons.Wood processing industry in Slovenia is here to stay.
The report estimates the overall size of the forestry, wood product manufacturing, furniture manufacturing and paper product manufacturing segments, their size and profitability and turnover of top 15 companies in the industry. NEW PUBLICATION: Metal and Machinery Industry in Slovenia
In 2009 we published a new research, Metal and Machinery Industry in Slovenia. The research describes in considerable detail the importance of metal and machinery industry, as well as production and equipment developments in the whole sector, and compares it with other manufacturing activities. By analyzing ten largest companies in the sector, the report will show which one is working with loss, and which one was the first to exceed half a billion Euro of annual turnover. Comparing the same sector in the EU context will tell you the standings of the sector compared to the European Union and to the neighbouring Austria.

Our researchers are currently working on analysing the construction industry of the region. How important is the sector, how it developed in the boom of past years, how will it handle the economic crisis, and which companies will be the losers and which the winners of the sector? IN 2008 WE PUBLISHED 6 RESEARCHES, AND IN 2009 WE PLAN TO PUBLISH 14 RESEARCHES
In 2008 we started working on our off-the-shelf researches in the more important sectors in Slovenia and South-east Europe. Last year alone we published six such researches, two for Slovenia and four for the South-east Europe region. Based on the good response of our customers, we decided to expand the sectors of our off-the-shelf research to 14 such researches, six for Slovenia and eight for the South-east Europe. Off-the-shelf researches are meant to shortly, but thoroughly present and describe certain industry, its importance and characteristics, as well as the main players.
